Sonda Curiosity su Marte il 6 Agosto 2012

Quanto mi attirano ste cose, avrei dovuto studiare per fare l'astronauta, forse...:D :lol: :lol:

MSL Remains on Track for Weekend Landing

Curiosity remains in good health, with no significant issues currently in work. There are no real-time activities planned today.
The Mars Science Laboratory spacecraft remains on a consistent and stable course, well within the limits required to reach its target landing ellipse.

As a result, yesterday the flight team decided to cancel the build and test of a contingency version of Trajectory Correction Maneuver 5. This contingency manuever, had it been needed, would have been used in the event an emergency prevented the team from executing the nominal scheduled TCM-5 maneuver, which is planned for Friday, Aug. 3, if needed. The project also canceled a corresponding update to parameters for the autonomous software controlling events during entry, descent and landing.
 
Ho provato a cercare se per caso la diretta dell'ammatraggio fosse ritrasmessa da qualche satellite in banda Ku. oltre che da Nasa TV (che e` trasmessa in banda C su un satellite irricevibile in europa).

Non ho trovato nulla in giro, sulla possibilita` di vedere Curiosity su un qualche Eutelst od Astra. Qualcuno e` stato piu` bravo di me ad usare google?

Curiosity Closes in on its New 'Home'

With Mars looming ever larger in front of it, NASA's Mars Science Laboratory spacecraft and its Curiosity rover are in the final stages of preparing for entry, descent and landing on the Red Planet at 10:31 p.m. PDT Aug. 5 (1:31 a.m. EDT Aug. 6).

Curiosity remains in good health with all systems operating as expected.

Today, the flight team uplinked and confirmed commands to make minor corrections to the spacecraft's navigation reference point parameters. This afternoon, as part of the onboard sequence of autonomous activities leading to the landing, catalyst bed heaters are being turned on to prepare the eight Mars Lander Engines that are part of MSL's descent propulsion system. As of 2:25 p.m. PDT (5:25 p.m. EDT), MSL was approximately 261,000 miles (420,039 kilometers) from Mars, closing in at a little more than 8,000 mph (about 3,600 meters per second).


Ragazzi,ci siamo quasi,tra meno di 8 ore sapremo com'è andata,speriamo bene...;)
Sul sito della missione trovate il countdown all'atterraggio su Marte.

non può essere in diretta se il segnale impiega 7 minuti per arrivare su marte e 7 per tornare indietro;) :D
sarà una falsa diretta come lo fu la Cenerentola di Rossini ;) :D
 
Curiosity e' felicemente atterrato!

NASA's Curiosity rover has landed on Mars! Its descent-stage retrorockets fired, guiding it to the surface. Nylon cords lowered the rover to the ground in the "sky crane" maneuver. When the spacecraft sensed touchdown, the connecting cords were severed, and the descent stage flew out of the way. The time of day at the landing site is mid-afternoon -- about 3 p.m. local Mars time at Gale Crater. The time at JPL's mission control is about 10:31 p.m. Aug. 5 PDT (early morning EDT).

Straordinario successo di questa delicatissima fase della missione, atterraggio perfetto.
Quando il rover avrà attivato tutta la sua strumentazione, comincerà a trasmettere le immagini delle sue prime operazioni sul pianeta rosso.

Ho appreso solo ora dell'avvenuto atterraggio di Curiosity su Marte, senza alcun problema. Bene!!!!!!!!!!

Ma dove potremo trovare gli aggiornamenti sulla ricerca che farà per noi (o meglio per la Nasa) Curiosity? :D
 
Ma una foto meglio, no? Scatta meglio la mia coolpix da 100€ che questo "attrezzo" da 2 miliardi di dollari :D :D

avranno problemi con telecom che non garantisce loro la banda minima per trasmettere foto e filmati a risoluzioni superiori a quelle del cellulare :D
tutto il mondo (anzi tutti i pianeti) è paese! :badgrin: :D :D :lol:
