Xbox 360 : Lista Giochi Compatibili

Si è creata una certa confusione riguardo la capacità della prossima videogame console di Microsoft, Xbox 360, di supportare i giochi programmati per la precedente versione di Xbox. Il problema nasce dal fatto che Xbox 360 integra un processore PowerPC mentre Xbox originale è basata su una piattaforma hardware molto simile a quella dei PC (CPU Intel), e inoltre la soluzione grafica nVidia del primo prodotto e stata rimpiazzata con una soluzione ATI.
Contrariamente ai numerosi reports pubblici, Microsoft non ha mai promesso un compatibilità al 100 percento con la prima Xbox. L'azienda ha invece affermato che le sue intenzioni sono quelle di consentire l'esecuzione di più giochi Xbox possibili sulla nuova Xbox 360.

Prima di tutto, per poter eseguire giochi vecchi su Xbox 360, l'utente dovrà disporre della versione con hard disk della console o acquistare l'hd separatamente. La ragione di tale necessità è che Microsoft offrirà separatamente il codice di emulazione per ciascun gioco Xbox e questi codici dovranno essere conservati su disco rigido.

Microsoft prevede di rendere disponibili nel tempo molti pacchetti di questo tipo a supporto di giochi Xbox, anche dopo il lancio della nuova console. Sebbene l'azienda non abbia ancora rivelato esattamente le modalità con cui questi emulatori saranno resi disponibili, è sicuro che verranno distribuiti tramite il servizio Xbox Live.

Xbox 360 tra giochi e crack

Milano - Sono quasi una ventina i nuovi titoli che, entro la fine della primavera, si aggiungeranno al portafoglio di videogiochi di Xbox 360. Microsoft sostiene che entro la fine di giugno il numero complessivo di giochi salirà a 80.

Gli appassionati potranno scegliere tra una serie di titoli di nuova generazione come "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" (Bethesda Softworks/2K Games), che mette a disposizione degli appassionati dei giochi di ruolo un mondo virtuale decisamente vasto; "Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter" (Ubisoft), la nuova versione della serie di Tom Clancy pensata soprattutto per il gioco multiplayer; e "Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend" (Eidos), che segna il debutto su Xbox 360 della popolarissima eroina dei videogiochi.

Tra i nuovi titoli attesi su Xbox Live Arcade si citano invece "Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting", "Uno" e le tre versioni complete di "Texas Hold 'Em Poker di Riverbelle".

Gli utenti iscritti a Xbox Live potranno inoltre scaricare dalla sezione Marketplace missioni e vetture extra per "Project Gotham Racing 3", e nuove mappe multiplayer, nuovi costumi e nuove opzioni di gioco cooperativo per "Kameo: Elements of Power".

Negli scorsi giorni Microsoft ha risposto, con un comunicato, al recente annuncio del cracking di Xbox 360. Il colosso ha precisato che gli hacker sono riusciti a superare solo le protezioni più esterne della console, ed in particolare il protocollo che autentica la comunicazione fra il lettore DVD e il sistema. Microsoft ha tuttavia ammesso che questo potrebbe già essere sufficiente per far girare copie illegali dei giochi, e per questo motivo ha preannunciato guerra ai cracker.

"Xbox 360 è stata progettata per poter essere aggiornata, e siamo già pronti a rispondere ad ogni attività illecita", si legge nel comunicato di Microsoft. Una dichiarazione che lascia presagire l'arrivo di un update software che, probabilmente, metterà fuori uso gli attuali crack.
