SEOUL, Dec. 4 (Yonhap) -- KBS World, an international satellite TV channel of KBS, will start high-definition (HD) service all over Europe on Jan. 1, the channel said Tuesday.
"We made such a decision to expand the provision of high-class service to Europe and enhance the status of the overseas Koreans' network," said the channel of South Korea's largest public broadcaster. "There also was a lot of demand for HD service by TV viewers there."
The channel previously provided low-definition broadcasting service in some Asian and African countries where demand for Korean TV dramas and music shows are high in September amid the rising boom of Korean pop culture.
