Problem with Sky Italia HD channels (in English, please)

Forgive me in posting in English here, but as I was unable to contact Sky Italia's
technical support thanks to fact it has been made extremely difficult for a non-Italia,
I decided to try my luck here.

Two weeks ago, I acquired a 12-month pre-subscribed Sky Italia smart card with
Calcio package, and a Xdome HD 1000 receiver. The smart card had already been
activated by the seller and all the standard channels were readily available.

However, when I try to watch any included HD channels, I get an error message
claiming that the smart card is not correct for the receiver.

The seller claimed that this would be corrected automatically, but it could take
several weeks before the satellite would send the necessary signal.

Is this the case or do I need to contact Sky Italia to activate the HD channels?

I would appreciate any help.

you need to contact sky Italia to activate The "HD Service".

The "marriage" between the card and the xdome must be verified and authorized by sky.

Thanks for your reply! Does that phone number work outside of Italy?
Sky Italia's number 199 100 400 could not be reached from Finland.

it's best to ask your seller to call 027070 from Italy directly and tell them to activate marriage between the XDome and the card, because they can trace the call and lock the viewing card since it is forbidden to see Sky Italy's channels outside our territory.

Thanks for the advice. I already called 027070 yesterday. The customer service had basicly no
objections to my case asking for the activation outside of Italy. However, I was unable to solve
my problem as I was hung up several times due to the personnel's lack of understanding English. :eusa_wall:

Is there a direct email address I could try to get my card and receiver paired?

uhm since the subscriber is your seller you cannot sign up to Sky Fai Da Te website to manage your subscription and mail them, the only way is go through your seller...which is probably the fastest way...do not risk calling from outside italy, believe me, they can block your card because viewing Sky Italy (it's the same for almost all EU pay TVs) from another country (unfortunately) is considered a violation of the contract

After I received my card and receiver, I contacted the seller immediately when I noticed that the HD channels were unavailable.
In his reply he claimed that it would take a minimum of 15 days before the activation pulse would be sent. This seemed a bit
weird to me. Suspiciously enough, the time in which I could have postpone the deal and return the goods, was 2 weeks.

uhm I sincerely home this isn't a scam because I think that there are SD prepaid cards available out there and I hope yours isn't one of them...when HD is avail. it is clearly stated when you buy the card..
