problema sdram vecchio pc

Ciao a tutti ho installato su un pc da battaglia un banco di sdram pci133 da 256M e me ne vede solo 128M, ma dalle specifiche della scheda che allego sembrerebbe che possa tranquillamente digerire anche 256M.
Come posso fare per fargli rilevare tutti i 256?.

The mainboard supports a maximum memory size of 384MB (8M x 8) or 768MB (16M x 4) registered DIMM for SDRAM:
It provides three 168-pin unbuffered DIMMs (Double In-Line Memory Module) sockets.
It supports 8 MB to 256 Mbytes DIMM memory module.
There are two kinds of DIMM specification supported by this mainboard: PC100 and PC66.
If you use 66MHz CPU Bus Frequency, these two DIMM Specs. Is supported. If you use 100 MHz CPU
 
Se ho capito bene, hai 1 solo banco da 256 ed il tuo p.c. ne vede solamente 128... Hai provato a mettere la ram in un altro banco?
Oppure se vedi la memoria ram con windows , la tua sk. video è a parte oppure inclusa nella sk. madre ?
Ti dico questo xchè il nuovo p.c. acquistato ha 512 mega di memoria ma 128 sono dedicati alla sk. video Ati, x cui w. XP mi dice che ne ha soltanto 384 disponibili :eusa_wall:
 
Tu stai utilizzando delle SDRAM a 133 Mhz, mentre nelle istruzioni c'è scritto che sono supportate solo quelle a 66 e 100 Mhz.
Questo potrebbe essere un problema...
Potresti andare nel BIOS e verificare i parametri di accesso alla RAM, prova a fare una verifica automatica.

la scheda viedo è a parte e cmq il pc è vecchio (pII 350 mhz) quindi nn credo sussista il problema che dici tu (p.s. anch'io ho un p4 e parte della ram la riserva alla sk video).

ho guardato nel bios, ma a dir la verità nn ci ho capito molto, gli unici parametri che ho riscontrato sono questi:

SDRAM Configuration by :SPD
SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay :3
SDRAM RAS Precharge Time :3
SDRAM CAS Latency Time :3
DRAM Data Integrity Mode :Non-ECC
Auto Detect DIMM/PCI Clk :Enabled

SDRAM Configuration by
Choose SPD, the SDRAM time will load from the DIMM EEPROM value. Choose manual, the value will be set by SDRAM Ras-to-CAS Delay and SDRAM CAS Latency Time. The settings are SPD and Manual. If the DIMM is without EEPROM, then set this item to Manual. Set SDRAM Ras-to-CAS Delay and SDRAM CAS Latency Time to 3.

SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay
You can select the SDRAM RAS to CAS delay time in HCLKs of 2 or 3 (default). This should be set depending on the SDRAM installed.
SDRAM RAS Precharge Time
You can select the SDRAM RAS Precharge time in HCLKs of 2 or 3 (default). This should be set depending on the SDRAM installed.

SDRAM CAS Latency Time
You can select CAS latency time in HCLKs of 2 or 3 (default). This should be set depending on the SDRAM installed.

DRAM Data Integrity Mode
Select Non-ECC or ECC(error-correcting code), according to the type of installed DRAM. The settings are Non-ECC (default) or ECC.

tu cosa indenti per verifica automatica?
 
Intendevo la voce "Auto detect DIMM/PCI Clock", ma vedo che è già a ON.
La DIMM è del tipo ECC o NON-ECC ?
Hai provato a metterla su un altro PC per vedere se è tutto OK?

La tua MB non supporta ram del tipo 8 (chip) x 32 MB ma al massimo supporta 16 (chip) x 16 MB la tua è una 8 chip

mi sa che hai ragione !!
quindi continuo ad usare il banco da 256 usufruendone solo di 128, glab !!!
