7W Atlantic Bird 4 10758V Mid East Beam

Ciao a tutti,

Does anybody get 7W Atlantic Bird 4 10758V from the Mid East Beam ? The EIRP all over Italy is <<40dbW so i believe that maybe a 2.40m should get it in Sicilia or Calabria.

I tried to receive the frequency you listed on your post without any positive result.
There is no trace of the signal at all!
The dish is about 120 cm. and my location is Rome.
That's strange. I should be able to get something. I'm afraid I overestimeted my plate!

Controllando alcuni dati sulla ricezione di questo satellite su una rivista specializzata, basterebbero solo 60 cm. per ricevere i 10758 V al centro e 160 cm. al sud.
Davvero rosea come prospettiva, sopratutto dopo aver controllato la piantina pubblicata da Lyngsat: http://www.lyngsat-maps.com/maps/ab4_st.html.
Un'illusione, la mia, morta sul nascere.

That's why i aimed my question to people with large dishes. Anybody else ?

Frequency 10758 is the only frequency on 7° West, using a steerable footprint, so they can choose the area to cover and even change it whenever they want to.
I guess that even in Sicily at least a 2.50m dish is needed to receive it.

Secondo me non sono tanto specializzati, si sono sbagliati riguardo a quella frequenza!

That's the reason why i am asking. Some interesting stations could switch over to this beam in future and then the reception will become much more difficult all over Europe. I started the same thread in the greek board some days ago: http://www.sdtv.gr/smf/index.php?topic=4916.0 . The results show that little outside the 40dbW line reception is possible at least in Serres NE of Salonica with just 1m. In the NW there is up to now just one negative message with 1.20m in Kastoria. Might be disalignment of the dish as the user says himself. More reception results are kindly appreciated.
