I had the same problem. Windows update failed for the flash security
update KB923789
Start + Run + %WINDIR%\WindowsUpdate.log revealed an entry near the
bottom of the log:-
"Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070643:
Security Update for Flash Player (KB923789)"
The quoted solution below didn't work for me. I uninstalled Macromedia
Flash as suggested and installed the latest version 9.0.28.0 from the
macromedia.com site. I rebooted XP then tried windows update again and
it still failed.
I opened IE and went to youtube.com and started a video then right
click it and click "About Adobe Flash Player" and it told me I still
had version 7 rather than version 9. Somehow the reinstallation wasn't
making it through to IE.
Solution:-
Use Windows Explorer to get to Windows/Downloaded Program Files and
right click Shockwave Flash Object, then Update. This is the IE plugins
folder I think. Anyway that did the trick, repeating the youtube process
told me I finally had version 9.0.28.0.
Having got that done, when I did windows update again it didn't list
the flash security update KB923789. End of problem.
Hope this helps someone. I lost an hour or so with this, thanks
Microsoft once again you failed.

Da dove la stai scaricando la patch.
L'hai messa solo su firefox o anche su I.E.
Sono due versioni di flash diverse in genere.
Usa I.e e vai sul sito di adobe a scaricarla
Bollettino
Il bug dovrebbe essere solo nella versione 7
