Description:
This Symbian malware can infect mobile devices running Symbian 7.0s Operating System and can propagate via Bluetooth.
It uses a vulnerability in Symbian OS v7.0s and causes a system process crash to lock the mobile device.
It drops several files on the affected device, which are detected as SYMBOS_LOCKNUT.A and SYMBOS_CABIR.A.
This malware uses the propagation capability of the SYMBOS_CABIR.A to send a copy of its installation file to other Bluetooth capable mobile devices.
It can also infect mobile devices running Symbian OS v6.1 and v7.0 but fails to cause the system to crash.

McAfee Labs ha comunicato di aver ricevuto il primo esempio di spyware indirizzato ai telefoni cellulari. L'applicazione sarebbe in grado di registrare tutti gli Sms in entrata e in uscita e di tenere una copia delle chiamate effettuate e ricevute. McAfee specifica come il malware è in verità un "proof-of-concept" dalla pericolosità minima, ma possibile nucleo iniziale per un pericoloso trend in futuro: "considerando che il furto dei dati e altro malware a scopo di lucro hanno fatto il loro ingresso nel mondo dei telefoni cellulari, è preoccupante assistere al debutto in quest’area dello spyware. MultiDropper.CG è il primo esempio di malware che contiene lo spyware mobile SymbOS/Mobispy. Invece di creare il software che contiene lo spyware da zero, l'autore di MultiDropper.CG ha utilizzato un pezzo del codice del software di un programma esistente (Flexispy) e l'ha integrato all'interno del suo malware appena 8 mesi dopo la sua commercializzazione". McAfee elenca nel suo sito le caratteristiche del malware:
- MultiDropper.CG è un Trojan Symbian-based destinato a colpire i modelli Nokia Series 60;
- è nella famiglia MultiDropper che sono presenti le serie di malware più diffuse;
- MultiDropper.CG è il primo della serie a utilizzare lo spyware SymbOS/Mobispy.A;
- Infetta attraverso Mms, Email, Bluetooth, IrDa, MemoryCard e richiede la conferma da parte dell’utente.

Visto che il 6630 ha Symbian60 v.8 (supportato completamente) scarico KAV Mobile e lo provo per 30 giorni.

@ Ercolino: Io ho il Nokia N95 e ho provato ad installare F-secure, scaricato dal sito Nokia... A parte il fatto che è solo trial ( dopo bisogna pagare per gli aggiornamenti.. ) mi pareva anche un applicativo un po' pesante, sempre attivo in background e quindoi l'ho disinstallato.
Quale mi consiglieresti, invece, possibilmente "leggero" e gratis o, almeno, poco costoso?
