Skype 3.1: Skype Prime, SkypeFind
Ieri Skype ha rilasciato ufficialmente una nuova versione "stabile" (Skype 3.1.0.144) del suo popolare client di comunicazione VoIP per Windows, che introduce una serie di bugfix e varie novità, tra cui le due funzioni Skype Prime Beta e SkypeFind.
SkypeFind è simile a delle Pagine Gialle community-generated e collaborative per il servizio di telefonia. Gli sviluppatori hanno definito questa funzione "Local businesses you like", per evidenziare che si tratta di una collezione di aziende, con recensioni e commenti, creata da tutti gli utenti di Skype. Dal sito di assistenza di Skype: "Consigliate le vostre aziende locali preferite alla community Skype con SkypeFind. Controllate i posti migliori e più recentemente segnalati dai vostri amici, e condividete i vostri bar, ristoranti preferiti o anche la pittoresca e piccola libreria che avete trovato. Tutti possono creare o recensire un annuncio SkypeFind e se siete non siete d'accordo con una recensione, potete aggiungere la vostra.". Complessivamente SkypeFind permette tre diverse azioni: l'aggiunta e l'editing di annunci; l'aggiunta di commenti e recensioni; e la ricerca all'interno di questo database user-generated. Ieri Skype ha reso disponibile una hotfix per la release Windows 3.1 del suo popolare client VoIP (3.1.0.150), che integra correzioni per alcuni bug riscontrati nel software, e la prima versione Beta di Skype per Windows 3.2 (3.2.0.53 Beta) che introduce una serie di nuove funzionalità nel prodotto, tra cui la funzione "Send Money" che permette di inviare facilmente pagamenti tra utenti via PayPal.

Oggi Skype ha reso disponibile la release finale 3.2 del suo popolare client VoIP (3.2.0.145), che introduce in maniera ufficiale una serie di nuove funzionalità nel prodotto, tra cui la funzione "Send Money" che permette di inviare pagamenti tra utenti via PayPal e la funzione "Video snapshot" (istantanea video). Un'altra novità di rilievo in Skype 3.2 che non risulta evidente dalla interfaccia utente è il miglioramento della qualità audio delle chiamate e della funzione di "echo cancellation".

Skype ha reso disponibile la versione finale del nuovo client Skype 3.5 (3.5.0.202), dopo circa un mese e mezzo dall'iniziale release Beta. La nuova versione del popolare software di comunicazione VoIP include alcune significanti novità e numerosi bugfix.
