Ma quali sono i canali Rai HD che si vedono meglio e non soffrono di strani problemi? Magari si può fare una classifica dal migliore al peggiore

Poi per ultimi i disastrosi Rai 5, Rai Gulp, Rai YoYo, Rai Movie e Rai Premium. Questi ultimi per assurdo non soffrono di problemi di encoding, ma hanno problemi gravi con mancanza di definizione mancanza di dettagli, colori sfalsati, ecc...

Ma questi problemi i canali da Torino li hanno sempre avuti fin dalla nascita nel 2016/17 o sono comparsi in un secondo momento?

Non in questo modo evidente. Non hanno mai brillato, ma in queste condizioni lo sono da quando hanno cambiato encoder in quel famoso 18 Dicembre...
Poi nelle settimane successive testavano qualcosa settimanalmente e un po' a random per 7 giorni o Rai Movie o Rai Gulp o Rai 5 si vedevano correttamente anche se non ai livelli di Rai 4, ma almeno non avevano i problemi attuali. Comunque durava 7 giorni e poi tornava tutto come prima. Poi ci hanno rinunciato anche loro...

Effettivamente con la piccola riconfigurazione... i generalisti Rai HD sono ora a bitrate fisso... 7,5 Mbps per Rai 1 HD e Rai 2 HD e 6,9 Mbps per Rai 3 HD. Ovviamente il risultato è come sue uno vedesse i canali a 3/4 Mbps...

Ci sono canali che con 3-4 Mb/s costanti di video (anche meno) si vedono di gran lunga meglio….

Praticamente con questi encoder Rai, per avere una qualità ai limiti della decenza, occorrerebbe superare i 10 Mb/s!

ALE89, sapresti dirmi quanti Mbps hanno i canali satellitari che si vedono meglio (diciamo arte, BBC World News, Das Erste, TF1 che adesso è in chiaro)?

Tornando a noi...

Analizziamo i dati...

Visti i risultati di Rai Sport + HD che da tempo si aggira sui 7 Mbps, dove si notano tutti i limiti degli encoder rai (e relative impostazioni/settaggi errati)... ora possiamo vedere lo stesso effetto sui generalisti Rai HD dove inspiegabilmente li hanno messi a bitrate fisso, mentre fino al 20 Dicembre erano in VBR.

Non è comunque normale che un canale con 6/7 mbps si veda così male con tutti quei difetti. Come ho già detto, si potrebbe vedere così se il bitrate fosse sui 3/4 Mbps... non sui 6/7 Mbps!!

Rai 4 HD in compenso... (ok che trasmette serie tv e film per lo più) e nonostante abbia gli stessi problemi sulle sfumature come i generalisti, rimane comunque migliore di tutti i canali HD Rai... anche quando è a 3 Mbps...

Ricordo che Rai 4 HD e Rai Movie HD si condividono la banda tra loro. Fare un confronto tra loro due è imbarazzante... Rai 4 HD qualità ottima, Rai Movie HD qualità pessima, anche con il doppio del bitrate (Rai 4 a 3 Mbps... Rai Movie a 7 Mbps... visto che sono in VBR e succede)

Poi abbiamo Rai 5 HD con 7 Mbps fissi che si vede malissimo...

Rai Premium HD nonostante il bitrate si aggiri per lo più sui 4/5 Mbps... si vede comunque discretamente, ma manca di dettagli e i colori non sono del tutto naturali.

Rai Sport + HD anche lui a 7 Mbps fissi con tutti i limiti e problemi degli encoder Rai.

Rai Storia HD e Rai Scuola HD si condividono il bitrate tra loro, ma comunque questi due canali hanno una ottima definizione... quasi quasi vengono subito dopo Rai 4 HD.

Poi abbiamo Rai Gulp HD, gli hanno dato 2 Mbps in più (inutilmente). 8 Mbps per un canale che trasmette per lo più cartoni. Ok ha anche serie tv e qualche, ma tanto questo canale come ho già detto più volte possono trasmetterlo anche con 40 Mbps di banda e sempre schifo farà. Possono trasmetterlo a 3/4 Mbps e non si noterebbe alcuna differenza.

Stessa cosa Rai YoYo... 4,78 Mbps fissi sprecati... e nonostante questo con i cartoni si notano i problemi... con i cartoni!!!

Poi abbiamo Rai Radio 2 Visual... canale che potevano trasmettere tranquillamente in HD e la banda non mancava. Bastava darla correttamente ai canali anche in base al tipo di programmazione e fare una corretta riconfigurazione dei canali con un senso logico...

Potrebbero usare più "ref frames" (ammesso che l'encoder glielo permetta) per ridurre la ridondanza delle parti video, almeno fino a 5... anche se a sto punto sarebbe comunque una goccia nel mare... di quadretti e di problemi

Ma poi... su quella frequenza non hanno toccato nulla! Hanno solo aggiunte due tracce audio da 64 kbps su Rai 2 HD e Rai 3 HD...
